ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Tatum High School has to make room for a new trophy in its case as the Coyotes picked up a 5th girl’s basketball trophy on Friday night. The team took down Pecos 57-53.
“We’ve had a few of them, and they don’t ever get old,” said Tatum head coach Greg Slover. “It never gets old because you have a new bunch every time, and this one, they’re for real. They’ve worked hard, got through the injuries and showed up to practice extra. They just showed that they wanted it all year and I couldn’t be prouder.
Multiple Coyotes were able to contribute in the win. Louann Villasenor finished with a team-high 16 points and she also racked up 11 rebounds. Avery Henard also had a double-double with 15 points and a game-high 13 boards.
