“It was a pretty nerve-racking day but overall it was exciting to see how many people actually showed up,” said Arya.

It’s taken a lot of time and hard work. “The taxes and all the licensing and the fire inspections,” said Kaia. “Getting to know that part of business…and just having that experience I think is really amazing.”

“We did as much as we could to ensure we’re still getting some amount of profit while making sure it’s still affordable and easy to get,” said Arya.

The sisters and young entrepreneurs also got support from their parents who own the dispensary next door.

“Extreme pride in watching them,” said Arin Goold, their mom.

“It’s been pretty amazing to watch,” said Kory Goold, the sisters’ dad.

Full of color and thrifted finds, along with the unique space, is a unique menu of coffee and quesadillas. “You don’t see a lot of coffee shops that serve just quesadillas,” said Kaia.

“It’s simple, easy to make, easy to make affordable,” said Arya. The duo hopes the coffee house will turn into a home for the community: a place people can gather and enjoy.

“We’re wanting to make it a very comforting, safe space,” said Arya.

“I want people to know that they can come here and they’ll be welcomed,” said Kaia.

The coffee house is on Yale Boulevard near Avenida Cesar Chavez. It is open every day from 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
