NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – Multiple road closures have been reported for southern New Mexico Thursday.
Westbound I-10 is closed at exit 132 (Las Cruces), due to blowing dust and zero visibility, according to NMDOT.
I-10 eastbound and westbound lanes are also closed near the New Mexico/Arizona state line. Westbound traffic is being diverted onto US 70 at Lordsburg.

NM 549 is also closed from Deming to milepost 31. Officials say there are shelter-in-place locations at the Deming Learning Center, 5R Truck Stop, Deming Truck Stop, and the Deming Soccer Fields.
NM 11 northbound and southbound lanes from mile marker 13 to mile marker 33 near Deming is also closed.
NMDOT also reports that there are severe driving conditions in Lordsburg. I-10 has had rolling road closures from mileposts 5 – 13 and mileposts 36-44 due to blowing dust with zero visibility.
At this time NMDOT will continue to monitor roadways across the state due to the high winds.
