Construction begins on home for veteran in Rio Rancho

RIO RANCHO, N.M. (KRQE) – The ceremonial shovels got a workout Wednesday morning with a ground breaking ceremony for a local veteran’s mortgage-free new home. Sgt. David Halona is an Iraq War veteran and comes from a military family.

Construction is kicking off soon on a new home for him and his family. The Mayor of Rio Rancho made an appearance for his future constituent. “We’ve got a really big veteran community here in Rio Rancho. They play a huge role in our community. They’re involved in just about every aspect you can think of. Volunteering, working for non-profits, doing different things throughout the community,” said Mayor Greg Hull, City of Rio Rancho.

This event was made possible with the Building Homes for Heroes group and Pulte Homes.
