ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Coming off of a 21-win season and a quarterfinal appearance in last year’s State Tournament, the Sandia High School Matadors baseball team is excited to take another step forward in 2025. Sandia loses a lot of talented seniors from last year’s team but returns a solid core and adds some new talent.
Second-year Head Coach Marc Hilton has high hopes. “We had a great offseason, we do return five starters from last year. We have a tremendous upside in our pitching. You know, a lot of these guys have learned from last year’s class and what it takes to play at the next level. So, I feel very good about how they are motivated and what the outcome will be for these guys this year,” said Marc Hilton.
Sandia opens their season on Thursday playing at Albuquerque Academy.
