Police say Janiyah Pino was among a group of teenagers that attempted to rob a couple while they sat in their vehicle at an apartment complex off Tramway north of I-40. Police say one of the suspects, 15-year-old Jeriah Salas along with 14-year-old suspect Alonzo Sanderson shot the woman in the passenger seat. The woman’s husband shot back at the teens, striking Alonzo, killing him.

Janiyah Pino pleaded not guilty in court Tuesday. Judge Catherine Begaye says Pino will remain behind bars after her parents did not show up to court.
