APD: Fleeing driver leads officers to suspected chop shop in the South Valley

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Albuquerque police say the arrest of a fleeing driver led them to a suspected chop shop. Police first encountered Christopher Apodaca Thursday in a stolen car near Coors Blvd. and Iliff Rd.

Thanks to a GPS tracker they got on the car, officers tracked Apodaca to an area near Atrisco Dr. and Arenal Rd. Police say they found several dismantled vehicles and recovered five that were reported stolen. Officers arrested Apodaca.

He is facing stolen vehicle, aggravated fleeing, and tampering with evidence charges.
