Albuquerque

  • February 21-22 The Show – Albuquerque’s longest-running comedy show happens every Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. Tickets are $12.
  • February 22 Ghost Tour of Old Town Date Night – Celebrate Valentine’s Day with a discounted ghost walk through Old Town. The tour starts at 7 p.m. and costs $40 per couple.
  • February 22 Ten82 Poker Tournament – Join a fun-filled night of Texas Hold ‘Em catered by Rudy’s BBQ with raffle prizes drawn every 15 minutes. Doors open at 5 p.m., session 1 is at 6, and session 2 is at 8:30.
  • February 22 International Night – Bernalillo County 4-H is hosting International Night at the 4-H Center. Everyone is welcome to attend. Admission is free, with food and activities available for purchase. The event is from 4 to 7 p.m.
  • February 22 Puzzle Swap at the Taproom – Starting at 1 p.m., visit the Taproom for a fun-filled afternoon of puzzle swapping. Bring gently used puzzles (no missing pieces, please!) and trade them for something new. Enjoy delicious bites and a refreshing pint—because nothing pairs better with puzzles than good food and beer!
  • February 22-23 Expo New Mexico Flea Market – Come check out the food, vendors, and live entertainment at New Mexico’s largest open-air market. The market runs from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. and is $2 for walk-ups and $10 per car for parking.
  • February 23 Time to Market at The Artist Factory – A whole lot of heart, some art – and a lot of goodies locally made or sourced at a price that won’t break the bank. This event is from 4 to 7 p.m.
  • February 25 Music Bingo – Enjoy food, drinks, and friendly competition at Flock of Moons, every Tuesday at 7 p.m.
  • February 27 Rhythm India: Bollywood & Beyond – Experience a journey of dance and celebration through Bollywood and beyond. Vibrant costumes, dynamic music, and stirring rhythms echo the heartbeats of South Asia’s royal palaces and sacred temples, desert villages, and modern stages. Tickets can be purchased online and the event starts at 7:30 p.m.
  • February 27 Ancora and Albuquerque Songwriters’ Cooperative Open Mic – Every Thursday night is Open Mic at Ancora Cafe and Bakery where music and sound is the focus of the evening. The event is from 5:30 to 9 p.m.

New Mexico

  • February 21 Denim and Diamonds Dinner/Dance/Silent Auction – This Roswell event is for 21 and older. Proceeds from the event will support Altrusa International of Roswell, NM, Inc. and the Chaves County Community. The event starts at 6 p.m.
  • February 22 Donut Run – Come participate in the Farmington Recreation Center’s first-ever 1-mile “Donut Run.” Participants will eat a donut each lap they run for 4 laps. There will be prizes for the fastest to eat 3 donuts and cross the line. The race starts at 9:30 a.m.
  • February 22 Mouse & Friends Valentine’s Party – Join Mickey and Minnie to celebrate friendship this Valentine’s season. The meet and greet starts at 10:30 a.m. with snacks and crafts at Nelle’s Playland in Rio Rancho.
  • February 22 Otero County Farmer’s Market – Check out the only year-round farmers market in the area with many local farmers, crafters, bakers, and more exclusively from Otero County. This event occurs every Saturday from 8:30 to 11 a.m.
  • February 22 Puttin’ on the Swiss – Prefer a relaxed pace? Take your time at this 4-round Santa Fe chess tournament with cash prizes for all sections. Sign up and see full details online. This event is from 10 a.m. to 5:45 p.m.
  • February 22-23 Hold Me Tight: Couples Retreat – Build stronger bonds and enrich relationships at Ojo Spa & Resort in Santa Fe. This 2-day retreat starts on Saturday at 8:30 a.m.
  • February 23 Organ Mountain Sunday Market – The newest market in Las Cruces features weekly vendors, food trucks, retailers, and more. The event is from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • February 23 Pinball Tournament – Starting at 1 p.m. in Farmington, join Lauter Haus Brewing Co. for a pinball tournament with raffle prizes. Entry is $5 and the event is for 21 and older.
  • February 27 Mardi Gras in the Mountains – Beginning on Feb. 27 at 6 p.m. and ending on Mar. 5, celebrate the premier winter event in Red River, now bigger and better than ever.
  • February 27 Hat Burning Workshop – Admission includes the choice between small or wide brim or baseball cap, 5 different accessories, and stencils or freehand woodburned designs. This Deming event is from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Albuquerque Notices

🔶 Bernalillo County Animal Care Services seeks volunteers for spay and neuter clinics – Bernalillo County Animal Care Services is looking for volunteers to help with its spay and neuter clinics. The clinics will take place on Feb. 21, 22, and 23 and Bernalillo County Animal Care Services is seeking up to 88 volunteers.

🔶 Registration opens for ABQ BioPark’s spring break camps – Spring break is fast approaching, and what better place to spend it than at the ABQ BioPark? Registration is now open for the BioPark’s spring break camps.

🔶 Animal Humane New Mexico takes in 20 dogs from Las Vegas – Animal Humane New Mexico is calling it an “emergency adoption special” as Las Vegas, New Mexico faces an ongoing water crisis. Animal Humane said they took in 20 dogs from Las Vegas to reduce their homeless pet population.

🔶 Noche de Ciencias aims to inspire Hispanic youth in STEM education – Noche de Ciencias is all about inspiring Hispanic youth to pursue paths in STEAM. The program is sponsored by a variety of academic, government, and industry groups from New Mexico. 

🔶 FundAbility New Mexico loan program taking applications – Adelante has taken on the role of administrator for FundAbility New Mexico, a financial loan program of the New Mexico Technology Assistance Program (NMTAP) and the Governor’s Commission on Disability.

🔶 UNM seeks input on pedestrian safety and campus mobility – The University of New Mexico is seeking feedback about its campus mobility. UNM is asking students, faculty, and campus visitors to take a survey about pedestrian safety and micromobility access at the university.

🔶 APD asks for adult and parental figures to get involved to curb juvenile crime – As young people committing crimes continue to plague our communities, Albuquerque police are making a plea to the adults in their lives.

🔶 Bernalillo County holding public meeting to discuss future of state fairgrounds – Bernalillo County will host a public meeting next week to discuss the future of the state fairgrounds. Back in December, Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham suggested moving Expo New Mexico from Albuquerque’s International District and redeveloping the existing property to ease the ongoing housing crisis.

🔶 New dog park coming to Juan Tabo Hills Park – A new dog park will soon be added to Juan Tabo Hills Park. The city’s parks and recreation department says construction is underway at the park near of Juan Tabo and Monachos. 

🔶 Student-run coffee shop helping APS students prepare for workforce – Outcomes Coffee is a training ground for Albuquerque Public School students preparing for the workforce. Located in the Helen Fox Educational Complex, the student-run coffee shop recently celebrated its grand opening.

🔶 Tax season is here. What you need to know to file your 2024 taxes in New Mexico – With 2024’s tax season around the corner, the Taxation and Revenue Department has announced key dates and resources for New Mexicans.

🔶 City of Santa Fe seeks community input on Cerrillos Road – The City of Santa Fe wants to talk to residents about Cerrillos Road. The city’s metropolitan planning organization is reimagining the corridor and is asking community members to take a survey to give their input.

🔶 PNM urges customers near high fire-risk areas to prepare for potential power shutoffs – With spring approaching, PNM is urging customers near high fire-risk areas to prepare for a potential Public Safety Power Shutoff. The shutoff can leave customers without power until it can be safely restored.

🔶 NMDOT seeks public comment on projects – The New Mexico Department of Transportation is seeking the public’s input on some of their state transportation improvement projects.

🔶 Applications open for artist residency program at Carlsbad Caverns National Park – Applications are now open to become one of Carlsbad Caverns National Park’s first artists in residence. Participants in the program are allowed special access to the park to create physical art like paintings, sculptures, and drawings.

🔶 City of Las Vegas urging residents, businesses to shut off boilers, water heaters; boil order remains – The City of Las Vegas says they have found the source of a water leak plaguing the area for several days but are keeping a boil order active for the time being. The city says the location of the leak was discovered earlier Saturday, saying it took time for it to be visible above ground.

🔶 NMSU student-run restaurant reopening with new name and menu – New Mexico State University’s student-run restaurant is reopening with a new name, look, and a revamped menu. Formerly known as the “100 West Cafe”, the newly branded Westside Bistro will open next Friday in Gerald Thomas Hall.

🔶 New Mexico Immigration Safety Act moves forward in Roundhouse – A bill in New Mexico aimed at preventing people form being detained as part of federal mass deportation efforts is making its way through the Roundhouse.

🔶 Bill that would increase alcohol tax in New Mexico passes first committee – Getting a six-pack at the grocery store or a glass of wine at your favorite bar may soon cost a little more. HB 417, a bill that would increase taxes on alcoholic beverages, cleared its first hurdle on Wednesday. 

🔶 New Mexico wireless tower bill moves forward in Roundhouse – A bill in New Mexico that would allow state agencies to install wireless towers on their properties is moving forward in the Roundhouse. The state’s broadband office says Senate Bill 164 would ensure cellular access in state parks, historic landmarks and rural communities near state properties.
