Las Vegas updates community on water pressure woes

LAS VEGAS, N.M. (KRQE) – Las Vegas city officials say repairs to its water system will take place over the next few days to restore water pressure to the area. The city was able to identify the source of the leak that has caused a severe drop in pressure over the past week.

Officials are asking residents to be patient as they are trying to avoid a rapid surge in water pressure that could end up damaging pipes further. The city says residents and businesses can turn water heaters and boilers back on, but should know they may continue to see sediment and discoloration in the water.

When normal operations return, the city says residents should flush their heaters and boilers. A boil advisory is still in place. The city says they will deliver water to those in need.
