It took place on November 23, 2024, when an Albuquerque police officer pulled over a car near San Pedro and Lomas for the car’s registration being suspended. The officer questioned the driver, asking if there were any guns in the car. The officer noticed gun shell casings through the back window when he approached. The officer was waiting for dispatch to run the plates and licenses when a car went flying by. Gunshots can be heard as it takes off.
Another officer took off after the car, and later announced over the radio, “I think the rear passenger was on a vehicle with the driver of that vehicle that was shooting.”
Officers place 19-year-old Josiah Arvizu in cuffs. Police said he was the man on Facetime with the individual driving the car where shots rang out.
Arvizu is facing charges for contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
