ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – UNM junior point guard Donovan Dent has been named to the Naismith Trophy midseason team. He is one of 30 players named to the team and the only one from the Mountain West Conference.
Dent currently leads the Mountain West in scoring, averaging 19.6 points and 6.5 assists per game. The talented guard was named to the Oscar Robertson Trophy Midseason watch list earlier this month.
Dent is the only player nationally to have three 30-point games and three 10-assist games this season. The Naismith Trophy Midseason team will be trimmed to 10 semifinalists in mid-March.
