Nelly Junior Joseph wins back to back Mountain West Player of the Week awards

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – UNM center Nelly Junior Joseph is the Mountain West Player of the Week after winning the honor for a fourth time this season and going back to back. Junior Joseph led the Lobos to a pair of victories last week, averaging 16 points and 16 rebounds per game. Against Colorado State, Junior Joseph became the first Mountain West player to post a stat line of 18 points, 11 rebounds, 5 blocks, 4 assists, and 3 steals.

He followed up that performance with 14 points and 21 rebounds in an 88-53 victory over Air Force. The 21 rebounds is a career-best for Junior Joseph in a single game and ranks second most ever by a Lobo in a Mountain West game.

The Lobos are 12-1 in league play and 20-4 overall. Junior Joseph and the Lobos are back on the floor Wednesday to host the Wyoming Cowboys at The Pit.
