NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – As Valentine’s Day gets closer, the likelihood of couples popping the question and going down the road to marriage increases. The prices of weddings can easily skyrocket and WalletHub recently looked at over 180 U.S. cities to find some of the most affordable and convenient wedding destinations.
Each city was looked at across 26 key indicators ranging from average wedding cost to the number of venues and event spaces per capita, as well as hotel availability. Both Albuquerque and Las Cruces made the list with the Duke City coming in at No. 49 and Las Cruces at No. 91.
Las Cruces ranked high at No. 14 when it came to cost (compared to Albuquerque’s 59) but fell short when it came to Facilities & Services, and Activities & Attractions. Albuquerque ranked No. 99 in Facilities & Services (Las Cruces was No. 173) and No. 38 when it comes to Activities & Attractions (Las Cruces was No. 112).
At the top of the list was Orlando, FL with a total score of 80.26, a cost rank of No. 37, Facilities & Services rank of No. 2, and Activities & Attractions rank of No.6.
