ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Another person accused of being involved in last week’s courtroom brawl in Albuquerque has been arrested. The fight happened at a district court hearing for Alexander Ortiz who is accused of a murder in January 2024. Surveillance video showed a man jump over from the gallery while a second man followed behind him. Both males can be seen fighting with Ortiz. The video later showed a woman grabbing a chair and hitting Ortiz and a Metropolitan Detention Center officer.
Police said that the female in the video is 34-year-old Jamie Lucero. She is facing a charge of battery on a peace officer and assault.
The first man to rush at the defendant was Carlos Lucero, who told deputies “he killed my niece like a coward.” The second man was identified as Pete Ysasi. Both are facing charges of assault as well as battery on a peace officer.
