According to court documents, Nathen Garley pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute 400 grams and more of a mixture or substance containing a detectable amount of fentanyl. Law enforcement located the drugs during a traffic stop on I-40 near Grants.
Garley is one of three men accused of killing 11-year-old Froylan Villegas and paralyzing his cousin Tatiana Villegas outside of Isotopes Park in September 2023. Police say Garley, Jose Romero and Daniel Gomez were targeting a rival gang when they fired shots at the wrong vehicle.
Garley’s sentencing date for the drug charges has not yet been set. His jury trial for the shooting charges is scheduled to start later in February.
