NEW ALBANY, Ohio (WCMH) – One person is dead and five others are injured after a shooting at a cosmetics warehouse in Ohio on Tuesday night.
The shooting happened at the KDC/One building in New Albany at around 10:20 p.m., authorities said. KDC/One’s website indicates that the company produces cosmetics, toiletries, cleaning products and insecticides.
The suspect, Bruce Reginald Foster III, was an employee at the facility, the New Albany police confirmed. Officials announced that Foster had been arrested by U.S. Marshalls in Columbus at around 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nexstar’s WCMH reported.
Foster is facing charges of aggravated murder.

In an update provided to press at 2 a.m. on Wednesday morning, New Albany Police Chief Greg Jones said the shooting appeared to be a “targeted type of attack.” A motive for the shooting has not been released, and no altercation occurred before the shooting, Jones said.
Jones added that a firearm was recovered at the scene; he did not say what type of firearm it was.
At a press conference held hours later, Jones confirmed that Foster had been in the building for several hours before the shooting took place. Jones also said that authorities are reviewing security footage and there is evidence of Foster entering and exiting the building.
Officials also said that Foster was driven to the building on Tuesday by another person, though they do not currently believe the person driving Foster is directly involved.
“This is a fluid situation, we’re only hours into this, a lot of this information can change,” Jones said, “But we don’t have any reason to believe that anybody was an accomplice by helping him get here or escape.”
The deceased victim was found inside the building after the shooting, Jones said. The other five were transported to local hospitals; their conditions were not disclosed.
Jones estimated that there were approximately 150 people in the building at the time of the shooting, but many were unaware of the incident due to the size of the facility. Detectives are currently working to speak with employees and witnesses.
“This has been a very tragic situation,” Jones said. “This is something that we hope that would never happen in our community. But we prepare for it, and this is where we are now.”
Law enforcement officers with the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, New Albany and Columbus police, as well as the Attorney General’s Bureau of Criminal Investigation, have already assisted with the incident and investigation.
