Agents followed the vehicle to a Speedway gas station located at 6104 Academy Road NW and saw a man, later identified as Osceola Miles, 38, inside the vehicle as well. Agents conducted a vehicle takedown and boxed the vehicle in while telling Miles to show his hands, state police said in a news release.
NMSP said Miles did not comply and began to ram the agent’s vehicles in an attempt to flee. Agents used “less lethal munitions” toward the vehicle, and Drumm got out and was taken into custody. Police said Miles continued to press on the gas to escape, so officers used “less lethal munitions” again.
Miles eventually surrendered and was treated for minor injuries on the scene. He was then taken to the hospital to be medically cleared before being booked at the Metropolitan Detention Center.
He was charged with aggravated assault on a peace officer and resisting evading arrest. Miles also had two active felony warrants for receiving and/or transferring a stolen motor vehicle and possession of a controlled substance, police said.
Drumm was booked on the felony warrant.
