ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – One person was taken to the hospital after a fire started at a home in the Barelas neighborhood Wednesday morning.

Albuquerque Fire Rescue responded to 902 Pacific Ave. SW for a report of smoke and fire at a boarded-up single-family home. The fire was brought under control within 19 minutes of their arrival.
One patient was found outside the home and was treated and taken to the hospital by ambulance. The cause of the fire is under investigation by fire investigators.
