Santa Fe Public Library to host 2025 Black History Month events 

SANTA FE, N.M. (KRQE) – The City of Santa Fe is celebrating Black History Month with a series of educational events. All throughout February, the Santa Fe Public Library will be hosting events open to all community members.

From “Kids’ History of Hiphop with Oriana Lee” to “The Pre-Civil War Complicated Lives of People of African Descent,” each event will explore and honor Black culture and history, looking at how the past has contributed to the New Mexico known today.

  • Kids’ History of Hiphop with Oriana Lee
    • Saturday, February 8, 2 p.m. to 3 p.m., Community Room at Southside Library
    • Saturday, February 15, 2 p.m. to 3 p.m., Community Room at Main Library
    • Saturday, February 22, 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., Community Room at La Farge Library
  • The Power of Indignation: Richard Wright, Black American Novelist
    • Saturday, February 8, 2 p.m. to 3 p.m., Community Room at Main Library
  • The Pre-Civil War Complicated Lives of People of African Descent
    • Saturday, February 22, 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., Community Room at Main Library
  • Afrofuturism with Santa Fe Prep
    • Friday, February 28, 4 p.m. to 4:45 p.m., Community Room at Main Library
  • “Santa Fe Resident Too” Film Screening and Discussion
    • Friday, February 28, 4:45 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., Community Room at Main Library
