Albuquerque

  • January 31-February 1 The Show – Albuquerque’s longest-running comedy show happens every Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. Tickets are $12.
  • February 1 One ABQ: Youth Connect 2025 Youth Job and Volunteer Fair – Job seekers ages 14 to 25 can meet employers face-to-face, explore summer job opportunities, network, and learn about public speaking, financial empowerment, resume writing, professionalism, and more from working professionals. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • February 1 Souper Bowl 2025 – This soup and dessert sampling fundraising event is ideal for foodies of all ages. Awards are given to restaurants in several People’s Choice categories including soup, vegetarian soup, dessert, and best-decorated booth. The event is from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • February 1 STEAM Night: Zozobra – Join the Anderson Abruzzo Albuquerque International Balloon Museum for an evening of science, technology, engineering, art, and math for all ages. The event runs from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
  • February 1 Adoption Event – Visit the ABQ Collective and join Lap Dog Rescue of New Mexico from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • February 1 Valentine’s Day Craft Fair at ABQ Food Park – Find unique jewelry, handcrafted pieces, creative gifts, and arts & crafts at ABQ Food Park. Starting at 11 a.m., shop local, support talented artisans, and find the perfect present for that special someone.
  • February 1-2 Expo New Mexico Flea Market – Come check out the food, vendors, and live entertainment at New Mexico’s largest open-air market. The market runs from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. and is $2 for walk-ups and $10 per car for parking.
  • February 1-2 Scouting for Food Project – Scouts will be collecting food at Albertsons stores across the metro, with all collected food going to Storehouse New Mexico food pantry. The scouts will be out between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. at three Albertsons locations: Juan Tabo and Candelaria, Eubank and Candelaria, and Academy and Tramway. They will be accepting non-perishable items.
  • February 4 Music Bingo – Enjoy food, drinks, and friendly competition at Flock of Moons, every Tuesday at 7 p.m.
  • February 6, 7 & 8 ABQ Quilt, Craft & Sewing Festival 2025 – With free classes and demos, $500 cash giveaways daily, and many new and exciting vendors, visit Expo New Mexico from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday and Friday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday.

  • January 31 Poetry Potluck – Visit the Silver City Public Library for the conclusion of the Winter Poetry Challenge with a celebratory potluck, starting at 3 p.m.
  • February 1 Sixth Annual Lunar New Year Celebration – From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Branigan Cultural Center in Las Cruces, participate in fun activities for the whole family to ring in the year of the snake.
  • February 1 Galentines – Join Nelle’s Playland in Rio Rancho for a Galentines celebration. Paint a mug or wine glass or make a charm necklace with food included from 6 to 8 p.m.
  • February 1 Farmers’ Market @ADC 25th Anniversary Season – Visit Sunland Park for a market featuring yoga, pet adoption, sip and paint, fresh produce, locally sourced products, and more. The market is from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • February 2 Sunday Chess Club – Meet at Popolo’s Games in Taos beginning at 1:00 p.m. This free event is for all ages.
  • February 2 February First Sunday Market – From 2 to 6 p.m. in Santa Fe, enjoy the monthly art market featuring hand-forged knives, locally brewed kombucha, handwoven plushies, permanent jewelry, handmade pottery, live music, and much more.
  • February 2 Valentine’s Sip and Shop – Join Rayos Del Sol Mercado and Bosque Brewing Co. in Bernalillo to enjoy over 20 Valentine’s vendors. This event runs from 1 to 5 p.m.
  • February 3 Chess at the Movies – Visit the Violet Crown Cinema in Santa Fe on Monday nights for casual chess, great food, and movies. Play timed or untimed, against beginners all the way up to tournament veterans. Free to watch, play, or learn from the experts from 6 to 9 p.m.
  • February 5-6 The Giant Bubble Show – Witness America’s only nationally touring bubble show at the Lions Club Building in Moriarty. Show times are 6:30 p.m. on the 5th and 5 and 7:30 p.m. on the 6th.
  • February 6 Painting at Sunray Park & Casino – Join Sunray Park and Casino in Farmington for a night of painting. The event runs from 6 to 9 p.m.

🔶 Department of Game and Fish to host Outdoor Adventures Show, Archery Tournament – The New Mexico Department of Game and Fish is welcoming the public to its Outdoor Adventures Show. The event will take place starting the weekend of February 14 at Expo New Mexico.

🔶 Albuquerque Isotopes look to hire stadium staff for 2025 season – The Albuquerque Isotopes are hosting an in-person job fair on Saturday, Feb. 8 to fill dozens of seasonal part-time positions needed to staff the nearly 100 scheduled events in 2025.

🔶 ABQ city councilor looking to rehab public housing in International District – Trying to get more affordable housing in Albuquerque, the International District’s city councilor is continuing the push to revamp three rundown properties; and, they could be on track to get a lot of help from the federal government to do it.

🔶 Bernalillo County approves plan to create housing development division – Bernalillo County Commissioners have approved a plan aimed at addressing affordable housing.

🔶 Bernalillo County seeks funding for early learning center – Bernalillo County is asking the state legislature for $1 million in capitol outlay funding for a new early learning center.

🔶 Albuquerque Academy senior launches online project focusing on suicide prevention – An Albuquerque Academy senior is taking proactive steps to help his peers with mental well-being by developing an online project through the University of New Mexico. The idea came from a tragedy that happened four years ago.

🔶 Nuclear Science and History Museum hosting STEAM day – The National Museum of Nuclear Science and History is hosting a discover STEAM (Science Technology, Engineering, Art, Mathematics) day for families. The event will February 22, from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.

🔶 Bernalillo County asks for infrastructure funding from lawmakers – Bernalillo County is outlining its request for lawmakers to improve Albuquerque’s infrastructure. The county wants $5 million to help reconstruct Isleta and Bridge Blvd.

🔶 Albuquerque Community Safety expands training, welcomes 13 new recruits – Albuquerque Community Safety (ACS) is preparing 13 new recruits to head out into the city to address issues such as mental health, homelessness, crisis intervention, and substance use.

🔶 Report reveals record-breaking levels of PFAS at Holloman Lake – New Mexico is breaking records but not in a good way. The state’s Environment Department found unprecedented levels of “forever chemicals” in a state lake. The Department of Health issued a warning to residents, especially hunters.

🔶 Lawmakers want to bring paid family and medical leave to New Mexico – Lawmakers are once again pushing paid family and medical leave for workers across New Mexico. The bill would allow employees to take time off for reasons including paternity leave and domestic violence cases.
