LIST: New Mexico’s coldest spots during the arctic blast 

NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – Many New Mexicans across the state woke up to extremely cold air Tuesday morning, with some temperatures even reaching record lows.

The coldest weather was felt in northern New Mexico, with -30 reported in Angle Fire, according to data from the National Weather Service. Several records were broken in the state, including an observed record-breaking low of -16 degrees in Raton.

In the state’s largest metro areas this morning, temperatures dipped into the negatives in Santa Fe while Albuquerque remained in the single digits and Las Cruces experienced temperatures in the mid-to-upper teens.

KRQE News 13 meteorologists said Wednesday will not be as cold and a warming trend will continue into the weekend with temperatures eventually climbing back to near or slightly above normal. To view the latest forecast, click here.
