Holly Holm and UFC part ways

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Holly Holm is no longer on the UFC roster. She is now a free agent after requesting and receiving her release. Both parties mutually agreed to part ways. Holm’s longtime manager Lenny Fresquez told KRQE Sports that he requested the release so Holm can explore other opportunities. The change comes at a time when Holm has two fights remaining on her contract with the UFC.

Now that she is a free agent, Fresquez said that Holm is ready to explore all options in the combat world. Fresquez went on to say that he is grateful for the opportunity Holm had with the UFC where she won the women’s bantamweight title in only her third fight with the organization. Holm knocked out then-champion Ronda Rousey to win the title in 2015. Holm is the only fighter ever to win world titles in both boxing and the UFC.

The 43-year-old Holm is 15-7 in the octagon, 8-7 in the UFC. Prior to her entering the world of MMA, Holm was a world-champion boxer who enjoyed great success. She became a member of the International Boxing Hall of Fame after being inducted in 2022.
