Albuquerque man sentenced to 20 years for string of armed robberies 

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – An Albuquerque man is set to spend two decades behind bars after committing a string of armed robberies across the metro.

According to the Department of Justice, in 2022 Xavior Akina fled a federal halfway house before committing five robberies between February 23 and March 13. The DOJ says he robbed a Chevron gas station and a Circle K at gun point in Los Lunas, and in Albuquerque held up a clerk at another Circle K, robbed a DK convenience store and targeted a Sally’s Beauty. Akina was sentenced to 20 years in federal prison.
