ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Albuquerque’s Health, Housing and Homeless Division released a video profiling a success story from their housing voucher program.
Ricky and Ronnie Besse say they were homeless for ten years, but two years ago the brothers received a notice to leave their camp. They say that’s when they went to the Good Shepherd Center and applied for city-funded housing vouchers. “So I told Ronnie, you know all they can do is say no. So we went ahead and applied and thank goodness we both qualified for it,” Ricky said.
According to the city, over 1,300 people from 730 households across Albuquerque are served by housing voucher programs.
