The Nature Conservancy plans to plant 5,000 seedlings on Hermit’s Peak Calf Canyon burn scar 

The Nature Conservancy is working to help those affected by the Hermit’s Peak Calf Canyon Fire. The conservancy is inviting community members to help them plant 5,000 drought-resilient seedlings on the burn scar this weekend.


FEMA extends home repair, rebuilding workshops in Ruidoso

The Hermit’s Peak Calf Canyon Fire scorched more than 340,000 thousand acres between April and June of 2022 in the Southern Sangre de Cristo Mountains and in San Miguel, Mora, and Taos counties.

The conservancy is asking people to meet at the HPCC Watershed Alliance Building (617 5th Street, Las Vegas, NM 87701) at 10 a.m. this Saturday.
