LOS LUNAS, N.M. (KRQE) – There’s been another delay for the long-standing I-25 interchange project within Los Lunas. The project is supposed to help alleviate traffic congestion for commuters on Main Street in Los Lunas.
It will entail adding a new road between I-25 and Highway 47 near Morris Road. Recently, the village announced they received a $25 million grant to fund the project. “This has been a long-standing problem in the village; it’s still a problem today. We still do see a lot of congestion,” says Erin Callahan, Deputy Village Administrator. “We do think it’s very realistic that we will be having a groundbreaking in March 2025.”
They say the next step is setting a construction company to take a bid by December. It was originally supposed to break ground this fall.
