BERNALILLO COUNTY, N.M. (KRQE) – The Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office determined that threats made against some Albuquerque public schools are not credible, according to a social media post made by the sheriff’s office on Thursday.
BSCO said Student Support Deputies and Albuquerque Public School Police worked together to investigate the threats, which they said were made via social media. Officials found that the threats originated outside the state. BSCO did not disclose which schools were named in the threats but said they were not directed at any students or staff members.

As a precaution, additional law enforcement has been added to some schools, the sheriff’s office said. BSCO asked parents and guardians to speak to their children about not reposting the threat on social media and to report it instead.
If you have questions concerning the safety of the schools, BCSO encourages families to reach out to schools specifically. If you have additional information to provide to law enforcement, contact the non-emergency dispatch line at 505-798-7000
