SANTA FE COUNTY, N.M. (KRQE) – Authorities are investigating an early morning crash on Monday. The New Mexico State Police were contacted around 1 a.m. about a wrong-way driver.
NMSP stated reports claimed the vehicle was heading south in the northbound lane. While they were responding, a Nissan, driven by Albert Titla, 25, of Santa Fe, was involved in a crash.
Officials said the Nissan hit another vehicle head-on near milepost 275. Titla died in the crash, and the other driver, a 39-year-old man, was taken to the hospital.
NMSP doesn’t know if alcohol contributed to the crash, but they are investigating.
