LAS CRUCES, N.M. (KRQE) – A woman believed to be the accomplice of a suspected murderer is behind bars. Police arrested Zachary Babitz in Las Cruces three weeks ago for the murder of an elderly man outside a Santa Fe Best Buy.
Police said Babitz was with a woman, now identified as Jessie Dominguez, when he carjacked a vehicle in Albuquerque and fled to Las Cruces. That’s where investigators said he and Dominguez held up an Arby’s at gunpoint before committing another carjacking. They crashed, and Dominguez fled, while Babitz was arrested.
KRQE News 13 learned that Dominguez was arrested a week ago on a probation violation. She’s now facing armed robbery charges for the Arby’s holdup.
