ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – University of New Mexico quantum researchers have received $1 million in grant money to help develop quantum technology. The National Science Foundation awarded UNM the funds to research the development of a photonic quantum computer that can operate at room temperature.
The funds will go toward the Quantum Computing Applications of Photonics pilot program which began earlier this month. It is just one of five projects to receive funding under the National Quantum Virtual Laboratory Program aimed at developing quantum tech.
