In her speech, the governor claimed a Harris presidency would cap drug prices and ensure women’s access to reproductive healthcare. She touted Harris’ time as California’s Attorney General going after hospitals that overcharged patients. She also went after the Trump-Vance ticket saying they want to repeal the Affordable Care Act. “You know what Donald Trump delivered? Junk plans, higher premiums, and abortion bans?” said Governor Lujan Grisham.
Meanwhile, New Mexico Republicans criticized the governor over the cost of healthcare and said the GOP is the solution. “People are having to choose to eat rather than take their medicine. That’s not a choice that Americans should have. That’s not a choice Trump will give them. It’s a choice that Biden is giving them,” said Chairman Steve Pearce, Republican Party of New Mexico.
