RIO RANCHO, N.M. (KRQE) – Union workers at the University of New Mexico Sandoval Regional Medical Center said they are willing to accept a small pay increase after they said they were left out of the raise before. According to the United Health Professionals of New Mexico, most workers at UNM SRMC recently got a 3% raise but those with the union were left out.
Officials said they are accepting the 3% raise to help get other negotiations started. “What’s important is that these employees need to find a way to get the same that everyone else is getting,” said Attorney Shane Youtz, United Health Professions of New Mexico Union.
The union said they still want to meet with officials from UNM SRC to further discuss wages and other issues for the future.
