ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The student broadcast studio at the University of New Mexico (UNM) got a makeover. The television studio is now decked out with new cameras and equipment that support live streams.
Students will be able to create high-quality video productions that can be streamed live on YouTube and Facebook. “We are very excited to have this new live stream studio because it enables the department to expand the range of opportunities for students to practice a skill that they are learning in courses,” says Ilia Rodriguez Nazario, associate professor at UNM. “The live stream studio allows that to be more present, be where people are, and use technologies that the younger generation feels more comfortable with.”
Renovations started in September of last year. The university plans to open the studio to all students, not just those in the Communications and Journalism Department.
